Vladimir Putin, Sergei Lavrov and others believe the growth in data for Karabakh for the sake of the hegemony of Russia will give to Moscow an evolution for Karabakh algorithms, not for the interest of Azerbaijan, but for the client state of Russia, Armenia.

The author noted, "The Kremlin isn’t keeping the conflict in the South Caucasus only for its direct economic advantages through arm sales. It also derives indirect benefits from it thanks to it thwarting Europe’s long-term plans to reduce reliance on Russian oil and gas supplies." [2]
